Mulethi is also called a sweet root and is one of the most popular Powders in Ayurveda and belongs to the Fabaceae family. It is a white and purple flowering perennial, native to the Mediterranean region. It grows to over a meter and mulethi roots grow 3 to 5 feet deep and can extend to 25 feet (10 m) in deep, permeable soil.
